General Electric: GE typically offers opportunities in a variety of job areas for those with a clean record. While a felony conviction creates major obstacles for those looking for work, GE may be a good place to apply as they often employ felons who are serious in their reentry to society and who will persevere in their recovery.
Liberty Mutual Insurance: The insurance field offers many job opportunities to the general public not having a criminal background. Based on our research, state licensing and certification demands that are typically found with an insurance company likely will not provide a good opportunity for felons to find work. It does not seem that Liberty Mutual hires felons.
State Street: This financial services company, as part of the financial field offers numerous jobs to the general public who do not have a criminal background. However, our research shows that the banking and financial industry establishes extremely strict standards with a very restrictive background check because of requirements by the FDIC. As a result, felons have no opportunity to work for State Street.
Iron Mountain: This information management company is extremely difficult for anyone looking for employment even if they have a clean record. There are very strict education and training requirements that can be challenging for anyone to meet. Felons will face an extremely difficult obstacle when applying for work with this company. Based on our research, this is very unlikely to be a fit for felons.
Cintas Solutions: This uniform and safety company offers a number of job opportunities to the general public with a clean record. Felons returning from incarceration have an uphill battle to be able to find work with most employers. There may be some opportunity to work for Cintas, based on our research, if they are willing to work hard and are serious about their reentry.
The MENTOR Network: This health and human service provider network does not offer many opportunities except to those with no felony record. Because of the nature of the business and the industry dealing with people with significant needs, our research shows that opportunities here for someone with a felony record, regardless of what the offense was, have little chance for employment here.
The Boston Consulting Group: This management consulting firm, as part of the business field, while it offers many opportunities, is very restricted because of strict standards and background check that felons are very unlikely to be able to qualify for. State licensing and certification requirements can also play a major factor in denying those with a criminal background from finding work here. This is unlikely to be a good place to work.
Giraffe Holding Inc.: This children’s apparel and accessories company is not likely to offer opportunities for felons in looking for employment. Because of the requirements and frequent contact with children, this will raise major safety concerns, based on our research. This is unlikely to be a good place to apply.
Beacon Hospice: Health-related jobs can be challenging for anyone to find. While some support positions may be options in the healthcare industry, our research indicates that because of state licensing and certification requirements these are often denied to felons. This is very unlikely to be a good place to apply and will be unlikely to work out.
IASIS Health Care: Jobs in the health field, while available for the general public with a clean record, typically offer few opportunities beyond a few support type positions for those with a criminal record. State licensing and certification requirements almost always eliminate felons from any type of consideration. This is very unlikely to be a good place to apply.
Publicis Sapient France: This digital technology business offers many job opportunities at a variety of education and training levels. Our research shows that the strict job requirements and restrictive background check will almost certainly eliminate felons from any type of consideration with this company.
