Baltimore City Employment Development – The Mayor’s Office of Employment Development (MOED) coordinates and directs workforce development initiatives responsive to the needs of Baltimore City employers and job seekers in order to enhance and promote the local economy.
Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Washington – Our goal is to help prevent returning citizens from falling back to previous mistakes by helping them find and follow a path to a new career. We do this by creating a support network centered around volunteer mentors who work closely with returning citizens. Together, we help overcome big and small obstacle on route to finding a job, a safe place to live, and a community of support.
DHCDC Reentry – Our re-entry program focuses on ex-offenders that are just released from prison; we provide case management and biweekly men’s rap and women’s rap sessions. We also have transitional housing as well as a component targeting home detention. Where we have a structured 3 day a week 6 month program that impacts DOC Home detention clients helping them to reintegrate into society. In addition, our case manager’s act as a liaison’s and advocates.
Jericho Reentry Program – Jericho is a one-year reentry program serving up to 250 formerly-incarcerated men, between the ages of 18 and 65, per year. The program assists previously incarcerated men who have recently been released reestablish themselves in their communities. Clients are primarily from East Baltimore, and may not have a sexual offense on record.
Montgomery County Reentry Resources – The Montgomery County Correctional Facility (MCCF) Re-Entry Unit facilitates many collaborative activities to provide offender opportunities for successful transition from incarceration to the community. The Re-Entry Unit firmly believes that successful re-entry is a part of effective crime control. The foundation for successful re-entry begins during incarceration and includes a heavy emphasis on employment development.
National HIRE Network: Maryland – Established by the Legal Action Center in 2001, the National Helping Individuals with criminal records Re-enter through Employment (H.I.R.E.) Network is both a national clearinghouse for information and an advocate for policy change. It is one of several special projects at the Legal Action Center.
VOA Chesapeake Residential Reentry Center – For more than 30 years our Residential Re-Entry Center has assisted federal ex-offenders in making successful transitions back into their communities. Our Baltimore, MD based program received American Correctional Association Accreditation in 2011 and since that time has assisted more than 1500 men and women in successful community re-entry. The Residential Re-Entry Center celebrated a move to a completely renovated facility in 2013 providing increased group and individual meeting space, classrooms, a new computer lab, commercial kitchen and indoor basketball court. The new facility is the largest Re-Entry facility in the United States serving the Federal Ex-Offender population and the only Federal Re-Entry facility in the state of Maryland. Our new location increases our capacity to care for the re-entry population by providing safe and structured programming designed to decrease as the individual progresses through key milestones in the program.
