Felon Voting Law in South Carolina
Once you satisfy all the requirements of your sentence, either through incarceration, probation or parole, you can re-register to vote in South Carolina. Felons who vote must also meet the following requirements:
· You must be a citizen of the US and 18 years or older by the scheduled election date.
· You must be a resident of the voting precinct where you apply for registration.
· You must be deemed to be mentally competent.
· You cannot be confined or incarcerated or convicted of committing a crime.
· If you have been given a felony sentence or have committed and electoral offense, you must have served your complete sentence (plus parole and probation), or must have been pardoned.
If you have met the above criteria, then you can proceed to register in the state.
How a Felon in South Carolina Can Restore Their Voting Rights
Once you can vote, the county board of elections will require that you give them a valid photo ID that is current. This is a requirement if you want your vote to be counted in South Carolina. To apply for a voter ID card in order to vote, you will need to –
· Fill out an application for non-commercial credential, which is state Form 447-NC
· Show proof that you are a US citizen
· Provide proof of your date and birth and identity
· Provide proof of residency
· Show proof of your Social Security number

To register to vote in person, you need to go to your local DMV office or local county board of registration. You can also download and fill out a South Carolina registration application before you take it into either of the aforementioned facilities.
